Twas Days Before Christmas

Twas days before Christmas, when all through the Northwest every creature was stirring, and becoming a pest. The stockings were hung by the old wood fireplace with care, in hopes that a surprise soon would be there. My wife was snuggled quite chilled by the hearth, while hopes of a new gas fireplace danced in her heart.
With Mama in her slippers, and I in my socks, we had just settled down for a little talk. When out on the street there arose such a fuss, I sprang from my perch to see what was up. Away to the window I scampered in a flash, busted opened the shades, and tossed aside the sash.
The holiday lights on the glimmer of the rain puddles gave a gloomy tinge not quite so subtle. When, what to my sobering eyes should appear, but a Cressy employee with a new gas fireplace for my dear. With a bright-eyed driver, so lively and quick, I knew in a moment it must be a fit!
More rapid than eagles, the options they came, and he whistled and shouted and called them by name: “Now Enviro! Now Flare! Now Heat & Glo and White Mountain! On, Sierra Flame, On Regency! On, Astria and Monesson! To the old wood fireplace! Let’s go! Replace it! Now replace it! Replace it right now!
My wife’s eyes–how they twinkled! Her dimples, how merry! Her cheeks were like roses, her smile like a berry! Her beautiful little mouth was drawn up like a bow, and the grin on her face was as white as snow.
Cressy’s guy was smart, a right jolly old elf, and I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself. A wink of his eye and a twist of his head soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread. He asked which model my wife would prefer, then went straight to his work, and replaced that old fireplace with a quick little jerk.
Shaking my hand and giving a nod, out the door he went, he did such a great job. He sprang to his truck, to the fireplace brands gave a whistle, and away they all drove like the down of a thistle. But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight, “Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!”
