FIRE DOORS

Cressy Door Company offers a wide array of rolling steel doors to meet the most demanding fire safety standards, unusual opening sizes and discerning aesthetic requirements. Designed to close automatically in the event of a fire or alarmed event, our fire-rated doors are available for service door and counter applications in commercial, industrial, institutional and retail uses.

All doors comply with NFPA-80, and are listed for both masonry and non-masonry applications -- including installation to wood or steel jambs within drywall. The Fire SentinelTM time-relay release mechanism provides an added measure of safety to control the doors' closure.

Fire Door Inspections and Certifications: Cressy Door Company has certified mechanics on staff to test your fire door and help you follow N.F.P.A. 80 regulations. For more information on our fire door testing and preventative maintenance programs visit our repair and service information page.

Fire doors and shutters are found in virtually all types of commercial buildings, including manufacturing facilities, warehouses, hospitals, stadiums, sports arenas, convention centers, and food court areas. They serve as physical barriers to stop the spread of fire and smoke from one area to another. LiftMaster® fire door release devices enhance the performance of these safety barriers by controlling the closure of the fire doors upon receipt of a signal from the smoke detector, heat detector, or building fire alarm system. The devices are an integral part of the door or shutters fusible link release assembly, providing fail-safe performance.

Ultimately, LiftMaster fire door release devices are designed to minimize property damage and provide increased safety for all building occupants. They provide a time-delayed release of the door for a period of up to 60 seconds to permit passageway clearance prior to door closure. Optional battery backup can ensure the door will not be released as a result of power failure (in non-alarm conditions) for up to 72 hours. For added safety of the individuals in or around the opening, a voice annunciator, strobe, or horn notification device can be installed to provide a verbal, visual, or auditory warning message prior to door closure.

Models are available for use with both non-motorized and motorized door applications. For motorized door applications, select models can be used to create a fully automated door closing system when used in conjunction with a standard commercial operator by providing features typically found on expensive, special-order fire door operators.

  • Rolling Service Fire Doors
Fire-rated service doors for a variety of commercial, industrial, institutional and retail uses.
The rolling steel, fire-rated service doors offer superior protection wherever a listed fire door is required. Common applications include factories, warehouses, mills, distribution centers and parking garages. Customized fire doors are available for conveyor openings. These doors feature fusible links mounted on both sides of the wall that separate to automatically close the door. UL recommends a 165oF (74oC) fuse link for ambient conditions for 100oF (38oC) or less, or a 212oF (100oC) fuse link for ambient conditions over 100oF (38oC). Added protection features, such as Fire SentinelTM and FireLite® vision lites are optional.
  • Counter Fire Doors

  • Class A 3 hour and Class B 1-1/2 hour fire labeled counter doors.
Common applications include factories, schools, concessions, hospitals, cafeterias and retail settings. Labeled with either a 3-hour Class A rating for masonry applications, or a 1-1/2-hour Class B label in non-masonry fire walls, these doors are designed to expand upward in a fire, allowing the guides to be installed flush with the sill. Their compact, box-like form also provides an attractive finished appearance that requires minimum side room. Counter fire doors are UL approved and can be custom designed for conveyor openings. Added protection features, such as Fire SentinelTM and FireLite® vision lites are optional.

The frame comprises 16-gauge jambs and header, and is complemented by a 14-gauge sill, plus hood and fascia. Added protection features, such as Fire SentinelTM are available as options.

FIRE DOOR ACCESSORIES AND OPTIONS

Each LiftMaster® fire door release device serves as an interface between the smoke detection system and fire door. As the central control, the fire door release system receives and interprets all signals to instruct the fire door and all warning devices to act appropriately.

LiftMaster offers a choice of three different models, for both motorized and non-motorized applications. For motorized applications, the appropriate release device works in conjunction with a standard, commercial electromechanical or solid-state operator to create an enhanced, yet economical, fire door operating system. All devices ensure the continued protection and code compliance for the fire door or shutter by enabling routine operation inspections without activating the primary alarm system and without disturbing building occupants. All our fire door release devices are C-UL-US, FM, and CSFM listed and are compliant with the NFPA 80 requirement for a fail-safe door holder/release device.

  • LM21AFCB - Advance Fire Control Release Device
The AFCB fire door release device is designed to be used in conjunction with a standard commercial door operator to provide a fully automated door closing system. For use with motorized doors incorporating a reversing electric safety edge. This 120VAC device can power up to four smoke detectors and two horn/strobes or speaker/strobes. This system combines state-of-the-art functionality and advanced features typically found on special-order fire door operators.

  • LM21XPBB - Extended Performance Release Device
Versatility allows the XPBB fire door release device to operate on 120VAC, 24VAC, or 24VDC power sources. Internal Battery Backup allows the release device to stand alone from the fire alarm system and act independently in the event of a power outage. The system can provide 24VDC power for up to four smoke detectors and two horn/strobes, mounted on either side of the door. Programmable delay settings, close door detection, diagnostic LEDs, localized testing, and reset capabilities are also standard.

LiftMaster® Fire Door Release Device Accessories include smoke detectors, heat detectors, speaker/strobes, and notification devices. They are designed to give individuals in or around the door opening added safety by providing a verbal, visual, or auditory warning message prior to the door closing.

We also offer options that provide added features and flexibility to upgrade the fire door release device system, including voice boards, transformers, and an FDR plug-in Option card.

  • Smoke Detectors
Smoke detectors can be used to provide a local alarm signal that activates the release device. Three types of detectors are available: Photoelectric, Photothermal detectors, or Ion detectors.
  • Heat Detectors
Heat detectors provide an alarm signal that activates the release device when the ambient temperature reaches a fixed point. They are available in fixed temperatures of 135 and 194 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Speaker/Strobe
A speaker/strobe is an audible/visual notification device used in conjunction with our optional Voice Board. The speaker/strobe is available in 12VDC, 24VDC, or 120VAC. A stand-alone speaker is also available. All speaker/strobes are ADA-compliant.
  • Notification Devices
Notification devices provide a visual and/or audible warning notification. Available types include a stand-alone horn, stand-alone strobes, or a combination horn/strobe. Each type is available in 12VDC, 24VDC, or 120VAC. All notification devices are ADA-compliant.
  • Voice Board
A solid-state speech module, the optional voice board (VB) may be ordered factory-installed within the XPBB or AFCB models, or purchased separately for retro-fit applications. In an alarm condition, the voice board will provide a warning tone followed by a voice message/warning prior to door closure. It can be used with up to two speaker/strobes or stand-alone speakers.
  • Transformer
The transformer is used in conjunction with an AFCB model when line voltages other than 120VAC are present at the door installation. Transformers are mounted within an UL508 approved enclosure and are available in the following two options: 90-TRNSFRMR-2 (208VAC 1/3 Phase, 230/460VAC 3 Phase), and 90-TRNSFRMR-5 (575VAC 3 Phase).
  • FDR Plug-in Option Card
The FDR plug-in option card is for use in conjunction with the LiftMasterŽ Logic 3-equipped operator. It facilitates field connections between the LM21AFCB and the operator by reducing the standard 10-wire interconnection to a basic 4-wire phone cord. Both the FDRCARD and the AFCB are equipped with an RJ-11 phone jack as standard to accept the phone cord. The FDRCARD also eliminates the need for ordering the operator with auxiliary open and close limits, which are required for all non-Logic 3 operators.
